I'm still teaching computers at the CLL on the UWF campus and I'm still Secretary of the CLL Computer club. They invited me to join the Board of Directors this year so I'm now the secretary of the Board, as well. Sometimes I don't think I'm cut out for the job but I'll give it my best.
I'm also still working at the Hurlburt Field Clinic Pharmacy but for just one day a week. They awarded me with volunteer of the quarter from Hurlburt Field in 2013 and they also presented me with a Volunteer of the year for 2012 that year. They sent me several very nice trophies one of which was a bronze eagle that I'm very proud of. Henry started working over there with me last spring and he loves working there too. We work pretty well together.
I was married July 14, 1962 to Henry M. Day. We are about to celebrate our 53nd anniversary in July. In some ways the time passed quickly and I hardly recognize the two people who got married all those years ago. Many things have changed since the sixties and even the world we now live in isn't the same. I believe our generation has seen more changes than any other generation before us.
In my younger years I was a housewife and mother for several years, we moved around a lot in the military. I've lived in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sicily and Germany, as well as, Mississippi, Washington State, Nebraska and now we're retired here in Florida.
I worked at A. C. Neilson's as a data entry operator before going into real estate. I now teach computers at the Center For Lifelong Learning on the UWF Campus in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. I also serve as the CLL Computer Club Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors and volunteer four and half hours a week at the pharmacy on Hurlburt Field which is a Special Operations AFB.
The 16th Special Operations Medical Group (now the 1st Spec. Ops. Med. Group) has honored me with Volunteer of the quarter, April - June, 2006 and volunteer of the quarter April - June, 2011 . In March of 2007 I was honored with Volunteer of the Year award for 2006. Then in March of 2008 I was given The Angel Pin Award from the Hurlburt Field Base Commander. So it's been a whirlwind romance and I love working there. I'll never give it up.
July, 2011 they awarded me with the "Good Catch" award for stopping a parent's medications from being put on his son's medical profile. The baby boy was named after his father. I thought it was just part of the job but turned out to be a good catch and they gave me an award for it.
My husband is 76 years old. He is retired from the military and was in the motel business for 17 years. On March 7, 2009 his car was T-boned by a driver who ran a red light on Highway 98. Henry was taken by Lifeflight to Baptist Health Care in Pensacola. He was hit on the drivers side of the vehicle and had his rib cage collapsed with his ribs broken in many places. He also had a punctured lung, broken scapula, a torn rotator cuff and burst diaphragm. He had never had even one broken bone in his life until this accident. Out of a two month period he spent 31 days in the hospital. He went back to work at the Comfort Inn & Suites, Ft. Walton Beach, FL. in October of that year. Then on January 7, 2010 he fell from a ladder at the motel where he was working at that time and shattered the heel on his right foot, broke a vertebrae in his back and fractured his left ankle. He has never been able to go back to work. This time he's retired for good. It's been a rough two years for him. He still suffers from the pain in his foot. He had another surgery on it a couple of years ago to have the screw taken out.
The 50 year Class reunion was a lot of fun. We both had a "Great" time and we're looking forward to the 55th.
I remember all the fun we had on Friday nights at the YWCA Hob Nob. It seems that everyone else in the country went to a "Sock Hop", but we went to a "Hob Nob". North Dakotan's always have been more creative than the rest of the country. Hob Nobbing was a lot of fun! There were those who seemed to be glued together with Epoxy during the slow dances and I wonder what kept them from falling asleep. I guess they were afraid of falling down. LOL :-)
The proms were also a lot of fun with the gym all lit up and decorated. The girls would all stand on one side of the gym and the boys would stand on the other side, sort of like a Mexican stand-off. Everyone was dressed to the nines and sometime during the course of the evening everyone began to integrate and move toward the middle of the floor to dance. Those were all happy times. Times to remember.

I knew who Gary was as a classmate. He was a very reserved person and a good student. He was always very polite and would say "HI" and smile. I see from his obituary that he lived a commendable, admirable life which doesn't come as a surprise. He was always very dignified. The last time I saw him was at the 50th class reunion in 2010 and we spoke briefly. I am so sorry to learn that he has left us. My heart goes out to those who were close to him. With all my sympathy, Judie Day
I am so sorry to learn that Gayle has left us. My heart goes out to Pat and all the family members because I know how much she was loved and will be missed. I will remember all of you in my prayers. Judie (Kraemer) Day
Happy Birthday Dean!!! :-) :-) :-)
