Gayle A. Budge

Gayle A. Budge, 76, Grand Forks, ND, died Monday, August 27, 2018 in her home.

Gayle Alyce Grube was born August 19, 1942 in Hallock, MN, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Bjarnason) Grube. As a young child, she moved to Grand Forks with her family. She attended schools and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1960. Gayle graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1965 with a degree in Business Education Teaching.

Gayle married Patrick Budge on August 3, 1963 in Grand Forks. She spent the next number of years raising her family and attending their many activities. She also was a substitute teacher in the Grand Forks Public School System, mostly at South Jr. and Central High.

Since 1973, Gayle spent summers at their family lake home at Lake Bemidji. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, shopping and most things in the color blue. Gayle also loved anytime she could spend with her grandchildren, they were what made her heart smile the most.

Survivors include her husband, Pat, Grand Forks; son, Bryan (Deedee) Budge, Grand Forks; daughter, Janelle Flanagan, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Bryanna, Patrick, Lexy, Tommy and Matthew; sister, Gene Warner, Pembina, ND; brother, Jay Grube, Santa Teresa, NM.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jeananne; and by brothers, Gary Grube and Tom Grube.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks. Online guest registry available at www.amundsonfuneralhome.com.
