Mary Olson Loyland

Life is pretty darn good. It is very nice being married again. It is nice to care for someone and to be cared for.

Like many from Grand Forks I attended UND, got married after graduation, taught high school, and had two children. My husband farmed south of Grand Forks. After my children were both in school I went back to school, earned a degree in accounting, worked in public accounting, and then being a glutton for punishment, I went to the University of Nebraska and earned a PhD (where they thought I was from Norway). Teaching accounting at UND has been my passion for the past ????? years. My husband died in 1998. It was the pits. My job has provided numerous travel opportunities mainly in China and England. I am on the board of several non-profit organizations and enjoy traveling, golfing, and once in a while helping on the farm.
