Dorothy Drees Schroeter, 71, West Fargo, ND died on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Dorothy Anne Drees was born March 4, 1942 in Grand Forks, ND to Albert and Ethel (Kuster) Drees. She was raised in Grand Forks, where she attended Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. She married Leonard Schroeter February 4, 1960 in Grand Forks. They lived in Indianapolis, IN before returning to Grand Forks in 1975. Dorothy attended Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from the respiratory therapy program. Following graduation in 1986, Dorothy moved to the Fargo, ND area, where she was employed for 23 years as a respiratory therapist at Dakota Hospital and MeritCare Hospital (Sanford Health). She had lived in West Fargo since 1988.

For many years, Dorothy was a member of the Red Hats "the Red River Ruby's" and served on the board of managers for Sheyenne Estates and was secretary-treasurer of South Haven condominium.

She is survived by sons, Timothy (Denise), Bottineau, ND, Barry (Mona), Yankton, SD, 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Linda) Drees, Bemidji, MN, John (Vivian) Drees, Grand Forks; four sisters, Donna (Ron) Widenhoefer, Albert Lea, MN, Doris Rachow, Hillsboro, ND, Violet (Gyman) Okeson, Belton, TX, Kathleen Miller, Langby, MN and a sister-in-law, Diana Drees.

She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn; parents; two brothers, Albert Drees Jr.& Donald Drees; and sister, Mary Hooey.

Visitation: Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo

Funeral: Saturday at 10 AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery South, Grand Forks.
