Patricia Flom (Rolland)

Patricia Flem Rolland, 63, Grand Forks, N.D. died Sunday, April 16, 2006 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.  

Patricia Ann Flom was born May 24, 1942 in Grand Forks, N.D. the daughter of John and Irene (Miller) Flom.   She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1960.  Patirica worked for the Grand Forks Park Board, Robertson's Lumber Company and Lumber Dealer's Suppy before going to work for the University of North Dakota Visual Arts Department where she was employed for 28 years before retiring in June of 2000 for medical reasons.

Patty was a vibrant, caring and giving person who touched many lives during her time with us. She was devoted to her family and friends and her passion was spending time with her grandchildren.  Patty enjoyed her reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and Saturday morning rummage sales.

She was active at both St. Mary's and St. Michael's Churches from Eucharistic Minister, member of the Altar Society to Secretary for the Knights of Columbus.

Patricia married Gerald "Jerry" Rolland on June 16, 1962 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Grand Forks. 

He survives, along with daugthers Wendy (Corey) Paryzek, Class of '81, Williston, N.D. and Cindy (Jim) McKay, Class of '82, Aurora, Colorado; three grandchildren, Kady McKay, Kolten Paryzek, and Jace Paryzek;  mother, Irene Flom,Grand Forks; sisters, Judy (Rob ) Larson, Class of '62, Boynton Beach, Florida; Mitzi (Mike) Barney, Class of '67, Glendive, Montana; Penny (A.C.) Brooks, Lantana, Florida; Terrance (Carolyn) Flom, Class of '60, Grand Forks; Bob (Peggy) Flom, Class of  '70, Tacoma, Washington;  Doug (Gail) Flom, Class of '76, West Fargo, N.C.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2006 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, N.D. Visitation was Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary service followed by a 7:30 p.m. prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.  Burial was in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.  Memorials were to Duke University Adult Brain Tumor Center (www.cancer.duke.edu/btc) or to Altru Cancer Center of Grand Forks (www.altru.org/cancercenter)
